Darkness filled the office. The walls seemed electrifying. Fear touched the spine of Adria while she jumped from her chair trying to find her phone on her messy desk. She smelled death and rot in the air while thundering steps were approaching her office’s door. All alone in the office and even in the building as it was almost one o’clock in the morning, she was regretting for always working overtime on her endless projects.

Three hard and delayed knocks rumbled her door almost crashing it open. The door wasn’t locked, just closed. Her heart was racing like crazy, her feet were almost numbed. She tried to keep herself from screaming by placing her right hand over her own mouth. Her phone was nowhere to be found. Adria’s entire body was in complete shock and out of control.

“I can feel you are inside…”, a demonic-like voice marked its presence scratching the door in a playful mode. “That heart is enjoying the beats… Ha-ha… It knows it’s mine…”, continued the demon behind the door with such a delight of finding its treasured pray…

Adria’s heart was beating so fast that she couldn’t grasp an ounce of breath. Her throat was dry, her soul was aching as horror was about to enter…

“Why don’t you want to open the door? Shall I do the honors?” An invitation from hell with a devilish laugh was mocking the weak human soul.

Adria prayed to God for help and strength. All her bad deeds that she knew of crossed her mind in what she thought would be seconds before her imminent brutal death. “Please dear God, forgive me for forgetting to pay the electricity bill this morning. I am sorry God for not congratulating Eveline for her promotion. I was envious, I admit. But, it wasn’t fair! I worked day and night for that promotion. She got it only after a dinner with the CEO. I am sorry God, I was wrong. Forgive me God for never cleaning my desk and always cluttering my office… Help me this one time and I promise I will change!”  She could go on and on, but the darkness behind the door interrupted her line of thoughts.

“Your God will not help you ADRIA! You are mine from the very beginning! You are a child born to serve me and only me! It is due time to start your service! Ha-ha! OPEN THE DOOR WHEN I COMMAND YOU TO!” The deep booming words reverberated through the door and around the place she was now hiding.

Under the desk she pulled the chair to cover her sight. She wanted at least not to see the beast that was after her. She didn’t make a noise all this time though her mind was screaming horrified.

Out of nowhere a sturdy arm grabbed her and with the other hand blocked her to make a sound. She couldn’t see the person. She was with her back glued to a muscular body and it was taller than her. She could feel the coldness emanating from him. Before she could make a move, sharp teeth penetrated her neck on her right side. Life was flowing out of her being. The only things she could hear were the demon’s screaming behind the door saying “NO!” and her fading heart beats. “There are two of them…”, were her final conscious words.

Adria woke up in a Victorian decorated room. She was lying on a huge Victorian bed with scarlet silky sheets. Behind the bed there were heavy thick curtains with scarlet and gold embroidery that dressed the wall. Left and right there were two mahogany nightstands with lamps providing a dim light in the room. The ceiling was painted with what she concluded was a battle between angels and demons in different scenes on a cream-colored foundation. Above the bed there was a chandelier with candle-like bulbs which was off. On the left side there was a wide window covered with curtains in same style as the ones behind the bed. She could learn that it was dark outside. The walls surrounding her each possessed a painting that would depict scenes of clashing between light and darkness, angels and demons, death. In one painting she noticed a man with brown wavy hair, chiseled face, and sturdy, muscular physique dressed in Victorian clothes. The style of clothes indicated that that man was of noble origin. His features were angelic. The man in the painting would have had around 25 years old she figured. Adria felt drawn to that man’s painting. Something within made her think that she had met that man before. But that was impossible. She was born in the modern era.

“Where have I seen you before?”, she wondered standing in front of the painting. “Argh!” She felt a slight pain on her right side of her neck. Adria remembered what happened previously. “I was bitten! Oh my God! What is happening? Where am I?” Fear made its way back to Adria who realized the danger she was in.

“You are in my home Adria. Who thought that my worst enemy would be such a lowly human now?” A husky male voice announced the presence of the man from the painting.

“W-who are you? Stay away from me! You monster!” A panicked Adria grabbed what seemed a candle support from a small round table near the painting and pointed it at the man.

“You really think that’s going to stop me?” The man started laughing with such devilish appetite that Adria backed off until she had nowhere to go. The wall was the end of the route.

“What do you want? I am not a rich person! This is kidnapping! And y-you b-bit ME! Are you nuts?” With her entire body trembling, she didn’t lower her hand with the candle support. She was in a defensive mode.

“Nuts? Could be. Kidnapping? Hmm… I would rather say “saving”, but you can make your pick. See if I care.” With a noble pose having his chest out, shoulders straight and arms at his back, the man was scanning Adria with his jade eyes head to toe.

“Saving? You bit me! Am I dead now?” With a quick check over her heart and wrist pulse, Adria realized that she had… no… pulse… “I’m dead!” With that said, she dropped the candle support on the floor. Her eyes landed on a little mirror in an almond shape on the right side of the wall and started checking her teeth. “Am I a vampire now? Oh my God! What have you done to me? Why is all this happening to me?” So many questions, but she couldn’t see vampire teeth in the mirror. She was her normal self, just a little paler than she would normally look.

“You are a vampire now. But, not a common one. You are something else. The process for you will take longer than usual. No teeth for now.” On a more serious tone, the man replied, approaching the spot she was in.

“Stay away I said! Don’t come near me! You freak! Is this staged? Where are the cameras? This isn’t funny at all!” From fear to rage, Adria searched all corners of the room for devices of all kind to find a clue that all that wasn’t a horror version of her reality, but an attempt of a comic situation to see how she would react. Obviously, nothing was found. She was truly living the horror version. “No! I am not a vampire! I can see myself in the mirror! Ha-ha! Yeah! This is staged! Come out everyone! Show is over! Wanted to prank me for staying out late? There is still one month left until Halloween! Ha-ha! You’ve got me! Nice try everyone!” To clear the tragedy and play along, Adria grabbed the man’s arm in a lady like manner. “Let’s go and fetch a glass of red “wine” Sir! Show the way!”

The man just stood there without moving a muscle. “Even your beauty features faded a bit, besides being a lowly human. Is that a wrinkle under your eye?”

“What say you? That’s not a way to treat a lady! You have no manners Sir! I am only 27 of age. Hmph!” Adria pulled herself from the man’s arm. She tried exiting the “prank” by aiming the door to walk away.

“There is nothing left for you in the mundane world, Adria. Like it or not, you are stuck with me. At least for a decade or two. Yeah, something like that.” Murmured the man with his fingers harassing his chin in a thinking pose. “But hey! If you want the other option, you can go back and open door number two from your earthy office. It’s still a matter of choice. However, I guarantee you that I am a million times more handsome than the bitch behind that door earlier. It looks a bit nasty and is more commanding.”

After hearing the man’s last words, her chin almost touched her chest and the room suddenly outbalanced her. A scarlet flashy wave appeared from the floor raising her in the air. The wave stirred her in the air leaving her unconscious. The scarlet energy transformed in a silvery and bloody substance that penetrated her heart, her eyes and her mouth. Once all the substance entered in Adria, she opened her eyes that from hazel turned bloody. Her entire body emanated a strong light formed in an aura that provoked a storm in the room sending the man in the other side of the room, crushing him on the wall.

“The bitch surfaced much faster than I predicted.” Trumpeted the man under his lips while standing up with his supernatural power on. His eyes turned as bloody as hers and his fangs could be seen like a wolf before engaging into a fight. He knew her powers. In the past he was no match for her, but now he matured and learned the ways to combat such a creature. Not only one fight had he won with others like her and absorbed their powers. He matured over the years. There were no less than 173 years since he was turned. 173 years of pain, betrayal and sorrow. 173 years of loneliness and plans of revenge. 173 years of waiting for the right divine moment of her reincarnation. The moment when she would be subjected to all the shit he endured.

“Save your fangs and strength Anthony Seymour!” Thundered Adria with a different persona while seizing him with her eyes at a safe distance from her. “It’s not the time nor the place for your revenge now”, mind reading his intentions and gasping his attack posture.

“Not the time Alexandria? 173 years? And now it’s not the time? You fucking bitch!” Anthony Seymour jumped on her engaging in a physical fight. He boomed her on the wall as a return for his previous wall clash. She raised her arm and with a quick move sent the massive bed into his direction. “Missed me! What? Not enough juice to aim right? Ha-ha! I was right to bit you, I am now your Master!” Giggling like a kid that owned his favorite toy, Anthony didn’t pay attention to the mahogany nightstand that hit his head from the left side sending him on the floor for a second. “Really? That’s how you want it?” Drummed Anthony while concentrating on blocking her and keeping her still.

Adria stood like a statue without the ability to resist and fight back. Indeed, he imprinted her with the Master poison. At his own free will he could counterattack and manipulate her. Her eyes got wider and her mouth opened just a bit.

“Surprised darling? Yes, I learned a thing or two”, replied Anthony with a cocky voice. “Not the stupid Anthony anymore”, continued Anthony coming towards her, facing her, in his previous noble posture with his hands at his back. An electric golden orb formed above his right palm maintaining his left arm at his back. “As you can see, your now mundane blood mixed with other witches’ blood along the years that I absorbed, gave me the witch-vampire powers. I encountered an ancient book about 20 years after my turning where it was revealed the line of “unique” blood. Apparently, each witch born under a full moon, at exactly midnight in the month of March, contains this unique blood. That unique blood empowers a vampire turned through magic, and not bitten, to possess double powers and become sort of a deity let’s say. I have full control and powers over this “unique” blood after I consume enough such witches. Their powers transfer onto me and I become more powerful. I have collected the right amount of blood so far to stand against the Great Witch, High Priestess, Alexandria.” Anthony took out a silver knife from the orb engraved with rubies and the letter “A” on it.

Glancing at the knife, Adria fidgeted. “What are you doing with that?”

“Just completing the ritual my dearest”, replied Anthony on a dry, heavy note. He cut his wrist with the knife and placed on Adria’s lips a few drops.

“NO!” She spitted the blood, but it was too late. She licked by mistake a bit of it. The room unbalanced her again and her bloody eyes closed. Adria’s entire being was drained of energy and collapsed.

“And that’s day one love.” Anthony waved his hand over the room and placed everything back in order. He picked up Adria in his arms and headed to the bed. Her head touched his chest, and under the movement of him carrying her, it went back revealing her perfect kitten plump lips in rosy color sprayed with his blood. A strong tickle from his stomach to his lips left him hovering over her lips almost locking them into a kiss. Anthony shook his head and threw Adria on the bed leaving her there alone for the night. He had other plans to deal with until morning.

The Hariri Forest was an unmapped forest as it was a magical one. Only supernatural beings knew of it and how to enter and exit from it. It was delimited by protection veils held with ancient spells and underworld energy. You could say that it was the passage from the underworld to the human world. Nonetheless, not any supernatural being could exit from it into the human world. There were guardian masters who had the responsibility to surveil the traffic and to apply law and order inside the forest. The forest was in fact a huge city where supernatural beings lived like humans did in their world. There was civil law and criminal law and punishments were applied. For example, if an unauthorized supernatural being had crossed over in the human world, the punishment would have been a-100-years ban for requesting a permit to go there or decapitation. Decapitation was more for those on multiple strikes and who affected the human world irreparable.

Anthony Seymour reached the gates of the Hariri Forest. A guardian bouncer prevented him from entering. “Sir Anthony Seymour, we had some turbulence a few hours back. We have changed the way of exit and entering. The price has doubled. I am sorry to inform you.”

“How much my old friend?”, interrogated Anthony without a worry as he was one of the big shots of the underworld.

“Two drahgos.”, replied the guardian. A drahgo was a golden coin the size of a dollar coin. It had on it the guardians’ emblem which consisted in a spitting fire dragon, three amaranthus flowers and a raven on one side, and on the other the letters “D.H.”. As a comparison to dollars, a drahgo was the equivalent of about 10,000 dollars.

“You know that’s not a problem for me.” Anthony gave the guardian the pay and put another drahgo in his large black green hand. “This is for the kids from uncle Anthony and buy something for the lady too”, winked Anthony at the solid bouncer who was now dancing like a kitten that was just petted by his master.

“Aww! Master, you didn’t have to do that! You are always so generous to us! Thank you! I will! Come at dinner sometime, the kids are always asking about you and my wife has prepared a bottle of blood the kind you like. It’s the rare edition.” A demon that many would keep away from as he was cruel and solid, spoke with Anthony like two old friends would do. If he had a tail, he would played it in front of Sir Anthony Seymour as he was always throwing a “bone” in their direction.

“Not at all Rhinders. It’s always my pleasure. I will come by next time. Say you, what was the problem here?”, asked Sir Anthony on a serious tone.

“Master, the High Demon Alhazar broke the vail. His long-waited jewel reincarnated, and he wouldn’t wait to receive the permit. It’s a female apparently and reborn in a female body again just as the prophecy said. Her blood allows him to walk freely in the human world. Something like that. He broke the treaty with the human world and now he is on the run from our hunters. It will be a hard catch as he is one of the most feared demons. You should have seen the hunters when they prepared for the hunting, they were almost in tears. Many of them have established families here and a battle with Alhazar is 40 percent chances of coming back. Actually, the High Master Guardian said to send you to him when you pass by. He wants a word with you.”, Rhinders updated him making the path for his cherished Master to enter Hariri.

“Thanks, old friend! I will go to him first.”  While entering the city his eyes sparkled blood and emerged the devil inside of him. The magic air would always bring out the real nature of each supernatural creature.

He passed by a hoard of guardians that were cleaning the scene of a murder. A bloodbath with remains from the victims were all over the place. Several low-level demons were caught trying to follow Alhazar to serve him and live in the mundane world. The punishment was severe as low-level demons are never allowed to cross over. They needed hundreds of years to consolidate their powers and base of human followers to be eligible for a permit.

“I salute you High Master Guardian! Heard you were waiting for me. Rhinders informed me of what happened.”, greeted Anthony the High Master once he entered the palace where officials resided. Not only once, the High Master consulted and required the help of Sir Anthony Seymour to deal with the special cases in over 120 years of friendship. Though Anthony was a brute and a bad demon, he had honor and code of ethics. He would never break a rule. Moreover, his mix of supernatural powers were no match to many. Even the High Master Guardian considered he wouldn’t be able to put him down.

“Welcome Sir Anthony! I am honored! Happy to see you! Alhazar is after Alexandria, Great Witch and High Priestess. He located her. He broke the veil to capture and overtake her. She’s at the 27th year of human life. We couldn’t delay him to announce you beforehand. If he manages to get her, Hariri and the protection walls are in danger. Alexandria’s blood and soul are the remaining keys to his global awakening. He could even become Lord over the underworld and human world. It’s imperative to stop him and prevent that from happening. Hence, I need your help in this once again. Whatever the price you set, we will pay without a problem.” With a worried voice the High Master Guardian searches a parchment in his office’s library.

“Certainly, I will help. But, what’s the story of this Great Witch, Alexandria? Why is she so crucial for such turnover of events?”, asked Anthony pretending not to know the backstory of Alexandria. In fact, he was tempted lots of times to sneak in and read the parchment regarding Alexandria, but every time he wanted to do it stopped. He didn’t want to break the rules and fall from his honorable place. Anthony was aware of who Alexandria really was at first hand to break a rule and know more. She was a traitor in his opinion, and this nothing and no one would ever change.

The High Master Guardian took a parchment and gave it to Sir Anthony. “Here is her story. Long story short, she is a former Angel. A fallen one to be more precise. One of the best warrior Angels from above”, pointing with his thick black finger. The High Master Guardian had the appearance of a Djinn, however, he possessed shapeshifter abilities in the human world. “After her falling, she helped a boy who was left to die in the woods. She used her last angelic magic to give that boy life. Deities above cursed her for that.”

“Cursed her for giving a boy life? I thought they would be delighted to see her performing good deeds.”, interrupted Sir Anthony with a perplexed grimace.

“You see, that boy was a boy born from black magic. A witch with a demon. The boy was set to rule evil on earth. At that time, humans got a hold of it and placed an enchanted knife in his heart. Because of his origins he didn’t die immediately. Humans left him far away in the cursed woods for the white magic to devour him bit by bit until he is destroyed. The demon was a High Demon. His father that is.”, continued the High Master Guardian.

“Maybe she didn’t know about it, or she did?”, asked Sir Anthony with a curious voice.

“She did. The Demon responsible for her falling was that boy’s father. Anyhow, her curse was to become one of the earth demons. A vampire. Having angelic blood still, she started learning white and black magic. The angelic blood was increased in strength with each spell and use of magic. She became the Great Witch, High Priestess, Alexandria. She has never bitten someone. She has never used her vampiric side. She kept her thirst in control with potions and magic. And that was for hundreds of years. Alexandria did her share of bad deeds. But only against bad creatures and bad people. Nonetheless, those above considered her and even today, an abomination. She was unstoppable. Superior mind, highly trained and almost got her hands on that demon until…”, the High Guardian Master paused with a light sadness. Even demons have their soft side.

“Until what? Come on, don’t let me hang in here!”, with a slight smile Sir Anthony pulled a chair in front of his friend. “I have to make myself comfortable as this is an interesting piece of story you’ve got there.”

“She fell in love… Her most stupid mistake, anyone could make.”, replied with a sight, drumming the desk with his fingers in a slow motion.

“Ha-ha! Fell in love? What has that to do with everything?” Sir Anthony was laughing as he never thought Alexandria was capable of love. She was only a bitch that would betray through fake love. Nothing more, nothing less.

“It has to do with it as that was the reason she had to die and give up on everything. To save her lover. She sacrificed everything forever, just to help that man live. She accepted the pact in the name of her love. I have never seen her crying, but that was the only time I saw a drop of blood pouring out of her eye. It was bitter blood, she said, when I asked her about it. She was dear to me.” The High Guardian Master remained in silence…

“Who was that man? He succeeded to live?” Sir Anthony became serious and really interested in the story at this point. It was something he didn’t know, would never want to hear, but at that moment something inside his being was driving the thirst of knowing. He was kind of fidgeting on the chair to hear about it.

“We don’t know for sure. In the pact she made, her terms were for the man in discussion to be erased and covered for a peaceful life as much as he can. No history of him should ever surface. She wanted to be sure he will never be found or disturbed. The only thing we know she regretted was that he will not have a happy life, but she did all she could to save him and have at least a long life. My guess is that she hoped, somehow, to be reunited with him. To gain time for her to find a way back to him. But 173 years, if I am not wrong, passed. And the pact she made was to reborn as a slave to the Demon that helped her give life to her lover. She had a cruel death back then. I am sorry Anthony, I can’t continue the story anymore. The rest is in that parchment with her portrait. She is the same as before. You will have no difficulty in finding her with that. Believe it or not, she was like a daughter to me and remembering it, it breaks my heart. I want to help her from this. That’s why I am asking you to help.” Concluded the High Master Guardian with a bit of tears in his devilish eyes. This was a side of the High Master Guardian that Anthony never saw and never thought would exist in him. After all, he was one of the High Demons with over 2,000 years of existence.

“Wait a second. So, what does she have to do with Alhazar? And why is she important to him that would make him Lord? You missed telling me that part.” A confused Anthony searched High Master Guardian’s gaze.

“Her blood and origins. She now is a human with a pure soul. Being reborn, everything is a trigger length touch for Alhazar to take and use. After she turned into a vampire that boy was her instinctively first and last pray. His blood is in her cells now and ever before. She didn’t want to do that to the boy.”

“You said she never bitten someone and kept her vampiric side under control. Hope you are not lying to me my friend!” Poked with words Sir Anthony, revealing half of his fangs and vivid sparkling bloody eyes.

“I would never Sir Anthony! You know me! She never bitten afterwards. That was the only time. She didn’t do it again as she said blood is bitter. She’s against drinking blood. Alexandria continued to rule her life by heavenly orders like she formerly did. Drinking blood is a sin. But the curse to take effect forced her against her will to consume that boy’s blood.” The High Master Guardian never lied to Sir Anthony as a fact. However, Anthony could see there was more to it by the way High Master tried to put an end to the questions. Anthony observed High Master’s clumsiness when he dropped an ink bottle on the floor, seemingly by mistake. Fear he smelled around him. Unusual to sense this around such a Demon.

“Are you afraid of me High Master? That’s a first! Ha-ha! What’s all this about? Chill my friend! Ok, I will take care of it, don’t worry. Will let you know of my findings and further guidance.” To ease the ounce of tension he perceived, Sir Anthony stood up from the chair with the intention to excuse himself and go.

“Afraid? No, why would I be afraid? Nonsense! Ha-ha! I had a ritual before you came, and I feel worn out. It was intense. To rebuild the veils is no easy mission even for myself.” Explained the High Master Guardian with a forced smile on his rigorous face while walking Anthony to the door.

“All right.”, said Anthony, “You will hear from me soon enough. See you next time my old friend.” Anthony with the parchment went back through the castle. A few demons of different species bowed in front of him at his sight and made room for him to exit the castle.

Back at his place, he went into his library to study the parchment about Alexandria and the pact in discussion. As any demonic pact, it was written in blood. Blood of Alexandria. He sniffed the parchment. Intense sorrow vibrated from it. This was Alexandria’s feelings when the pact was written. “Hmm… Sorrow… And is genuine. You bloody bitch and whore, someone made you feel sorrow. That’s a man I need a handshake with. He was the thorn of your life. Ha-ha! At least you felt that. Checked something from my list of to-dos to you soon.” An intense scream in the house paused his reading. It was from Adria’s room. He stormed there to find her shaking with black lines under her skin. The black lines wriggled like snakes all over her body.

“What’s this?! What’s happening?!” Screamed crying poor Adria that was her normal self not understanding anything of it.

Sir Anthony grabbed her hands. “Stay still! STOP CRYING!” His fangs bit his own wrist and gave blood for her to drink.

“No! You crazy monster!”, yelled Adria backing off in the bed shaking with all her limbs.

“Do as I tell you to if you want this to stop!”, replied Anthony on a serious tone. He knew what that meant. Alhazar was approaching. His blood would divert his way. She would not be sensed there.

Seymour forced her to drink his blood, but it was too late. Alhazar smashed the front door and entered the premises. “Where is my little lamb?” growled Alhazar bouncing the floor with each step he took. “Hiding in a vampire’s shelter? Come here, we have no time to lose. Full moon is approaching in two days and we need to prepare the ritual.”

“Stay here and don’t move! If you want to go with him go ahead, if not, listen to me! Got it?” Whispered Sir Antony to a really shaken Adria who was now free of the strange black wriggles on her body.

“Yes… No, don’t leave me here alone! Please! I am scared!”, reacted Adria when she realized the vampire wanted to go and confront the demon. She grabbed with her two hands Antony’s left arm.

Antony hushed her with his index finger on her lips. “He can hear us!”, murmured at Adria and went to meet Alhazar, leaving her fidgeting in the room.

Sir Antony took his usual noble pose and showed himself in front of Alhazar. “Oh my! And for what occasion do I owe this honor Alhazar? I rarely get to meet you! Welcome to my home, though it’s a bit rude to enter uninvited into someone else’s place.”, greeted the demon Sir Antony with a grin on his face.

“Seymour?!”, screamed Alhazar while facing Antony. “What are you doing here? I could sense a vampire, but never could have thought it was you! You dare to mock me again?! I am going to crush you this time!”, said the demon and attempted to grab the vampire’s chest to pull his heart out.

“I do have so many friends! It seems that you are one of them. You all have the nudge to play with me first.”, replied Antony while disappearing and appearing behind the demon.

“You are playing tricks on me as always Seymour! You sucked all those demons that possessed the witches and now you think you’re powerful? Those are low demons, you bastard! I am Alhazar, the greatest demon of all times!” Alhazar hurled a black energy in Antony’s direction to bowl him over the ground. The truth was that Alhazar had no time for the blood sucker. He wanted Alexandria to perform the ritual as quickly as possible. Much had to be done and Adria needed to be willing to do it. As a human, Adria had the divine blessing to make a choice. If she was not to agree with, things would become complicated for Alhazar. To make her agree with the ritual, the demon had to make Alexandria resurface so that the signed pact to be valid. The Great Witch Alexandria was the only one who knew all the steps of the ritual. It was one thing that Alexandria kept for herself as an advantage against Alhazar, in case he wanted to kill her and take her blood. It wasn’t random she was called the High Priestess.

The blood sucker guarded himself against Alhazar’s blow and lashed him back with an energetic chain, trying to secure him and send him back to Hariri with a return spell. “Demon, I have to send you back. Your unauthorized departure left many demon fellows in grievance, and some of your minions were slashed because of you. You know how loved you are there! They are crying and missing you already!”, said Seymour in a scornful manner while pulling the demon out with the chain. The demon was two feet height and broad as a bull. His skin was blackish with dark green symbols on his abdomen, arms and forehead. On his head, two horns with silvery top, and in between he had a greenish symbol that would look like a crown. The eyes were bloody with a jadish aura. His arms were thick with strong muscles and had humanlike hands, but big like wrestling fighters. Alhazar’s lower body was human too, but sturdy. On his wrists, golden bracelets with amber stones would complete the high-level status he had as a demon. Alhazar had long strong pointy black nails and sharp like a knife. When he was pulled by the blood sucker, the demon stuck his nails in Antony’s liver zone. Alhazar’s nails had poison in contact with supernatural creatures’ blood. For the first time in 173 years, Antony Seymour felt pain and lava through his veins. The demon didn’t retract his nails from Seymour as he wanted him to feel the excruciating pain some more before the final blow. “How does it feel blood sucker? Feeling hot? Ha-ha! Don’t worry, you will not be set on fire. It’s my poison for you. It will take a few days of screaming before dying. You know I like it slow and painful! You will be eaten inside out by the poison and it will take some time as you are such a stud!” Alhazar was jubilating seeing Antony in pain and contracting in his hand with his entire body. His neck was so clutched that he could barely speak. A pressure in his throat that was burning wouldn’t let him speak, but his moans were so intense that they could be heard inside the mansion. Alhazar approached his left ear and whispered, “The moment my nails leave your body you are doomed. You are a poisoned vampire!”, and he got his nails out of the blood sucker’s body. Antony Seymour collapsed in front of him screaming under the inflicted pain that was devouring him as per the demon’s words.

Inside the room alone, Adria’s hands were shaking, her eyes were watery with blood. She went into hiding in a dark corner in the room. She could hear the voices and the rumble from the other room. It was like thunders were inside the house clashing against each other. ‘Why am I going through this? Who are these people? Why am I involved in this? How do they know me? I am just a simple person! What do they want from me? I didn’t do anything to be here! Why?!’, cried Adria silently while biting her nails from her left hand and embracing her legs tight to her chest with her right hand in a back and forth swing.

Her thoughts were interrupted by Antony’s screams and moans. Those sounds hit Adria’s chest like a sword. Her swing stopped. Somehow, she knew it came from him and not from the other demon. Her tears didn’t pour anymore. She jumped on her feet and pressed her chest with a strong intensity. Her stopped heart was now booming like crazy almost going out of her chest. The blood rush she felt in her veins reached her brain and she flashed back in her previous life where she was Great Witch and High Priestess Alexandria.

“That is Antony Seymour. He’s the son of the late Duke of Wolfbury. He’s quite a lad. Handsome as he resembles his mother and sturdy like his father. After his parents died in that massacre two years ago he was left to take care of the Wolfbury land. He is now Duke of Wolfbury and defended the land without error so far. Sir Antony Seymour is a skilled swordsman, well trained in man to man fight and a great strategist. Well versed in academics, he has all the credits someone of his status needs. We are waiting for him to throw the good news of finding a bride and giving us an heir. Though he spent his last years in war against those hooligans that are after the title and put us down, all the fine ladies of noble origins are prepared at this welcome back festivities, to meet him and take a chance on him.”, said a nobleman who was close to Alexandria that was also known for some noble origins from a foreign land. Nobody knew exactly who she was, but she was always welcomed and praised at such festivities. Alexandria would always receive an invitation. Noblemen would seek her company and adore her conversations.  She would always be a magnetic attraction to the male crowd.

“Is he really? Well, I must have been gone for quite some time as I don’t recall seeing him last time or knowing about him. I thank you for your kindness, sir. I really didn’t know. He is handsome, appears to be strong and has an intelligent gaze.” Alexandria was present there to hunt a demon and not for the festivities. She would always have a free ticket to all such environments and a coverup, but the truth was she was on duty most of the times. That night was one of those nights where she had a job to perform and not stay for chit-chat. While the nobleman, who was a longtime friend, continued the conversation, she searched with her eyes for a hint of the demon she was pursuing. Behind a noble young lady whose eyes were lustful towards Duke of Wolfbury, a muddy greenish aura reflected for a second. She then new that the demon left his trail there. In the opposite direction of the young lady there was a door that gave the entrance to a staircase.

“I am sorry Sir, but I need you to excuse me for a moment. I have to greet someone and will be back”, announced her brief absence to her friend and quietly going in the direction of the door.

“Excuse me, lady…?”, interrupted a man her path.

“Lady Alexandria…”, replied Alexandria while turning around to meet eyes with the man that stopped her. She was a bit puzzled as the man who was asking who she was, was no one else than the Duke of Wolfbury.

“Oh! I am sorry, I didn’t catch your name in the past. I haven’t seen you before, so I thought it was a great move to meet more of my people and guests. Hope you don’t mind my intrusion.” Duke of Wolfbury attempted to make a conversation with her while his eyes couldn’t let go of Alexandria’s face features and felt a strong urge to go closer to her lips. It was like the sun met the moon for the first time in a million years. A wave of butterflies would flow from his stomach all the way to his mouth and his lips were hungry to taste Alexandria’s lips, though it was the only time he ever saw her. It was a strange feeling that he had never experienced it previously. He had passing by encounters with other ladies like all men did, but nothing serious or with emotions involved.

“Not at all. And you must be Duke of Wolfbury, if I am not mistaken. Pleasure to meet you, sir.”, replied in a hurry Alexandria who didn’t want to miss the demon.

“Pleasure is all mine. May I have a dance with you my lady?” Sir Antony wanted to be closer to her and feel her hand during the dance.

“Oh! My apologies, sir. I need to go for the night. I am sorry and thank you for your invitation. Maybe next time. It’s an honor nonetheless! I really have to go now.” Alexandria bowed her head like a lady and excused herself walking away from the duke. ‘Such a kid! I am old enough to be your million great-great-grandma. The hell I am ever going to dance with you! You had to delay me from capturing Horex, that bloody demon!’ Alexandria resumed her walk towards the door through the crowd.

She could pick up the dirty smell the demon left down the staircase. Alexandria’s fangs sparkled in the darkish room that was at the end of the staircase. “Come out Horex! I know you are here! I can smell your bitter blood from a mile!” While her now bloody eyes were scanning the room, the demon threw her across the room.

“I am never going back Witch! I go better with this world! Lots of yummy sheep here! They are full of lust, fear, anxiety, loneliness and all the delicious feelings a demon like me craves for! You are not to take me back to Hariri! I will become a High Demon in no time with those lambs that are awaiting to serve me! Ha-ha!” Horex was circling the ceiling above the place Alexandria landed.

“You will come with me now! You have no permission to stay here or to consume humans! I have the permit to even kill you for eternity, if you don’t willingly come with me now!”, said the Witch while jumping back on her feet from the floor, piercing the demon with her eyes.

“NO!”, yelled Horex and went through the walls to make his escape from her.

“God dammit! He’s playing! If only the bastard didn’t stop me then I could have grabbed him better upstairs!”, mumbled a furious Alexandria.

The door cracked, and a man entered the room. “What was that noise? Are you ok?” It was Sir Antony who tailed Alexandria all the way there.

Alexandria rolled her eyes seeing him and retracted her fangs. Her bloody eyes were hazel again. “Oh! No noise. Don’t know what you heard Sir. Of course, I am ok, I just bumped into that chair while entering the room. It’s dark and I couldn’t see properly. That’s all. Ha-ha! Was looking for the exit and I lost my way. Not very often do I come here, so I made an innocent mistake. ‘If only you didn’t come here! It’s the second time you cross my path! You are an annoying human! Too bad for that handsome face, your brain asks for danger!’” Alexandria cleaned her dress with her hand from the falling and gave a fake smile to Sir Antony. “Sir, if I am not asking for too much, could you lead the way to the front door? My chariot awaits.”

“Sure. It will be my pleasure. Here, you have your hair loose over there. There you go, now it is everything back in place my lady.” Sir Antony put her strand of hair in the previous position and offered his arm to lead the way for her to the front door. “I heard you are not from here my lady.”

Alexandria had no choice but to accept his arm and be leaded out of the castle to her chariot, though she was a bit touched by his then gesture of helping her hair look be perfect again. “Thank you, sir. Yes, I am not from here. I was a guest tonight as I always am.”, responded Alexandria, throwing another forced smile.

“Oh! Then, how long are you going to stay my lady? And where are you staying tonight? If you are paying a host, I can always offer you a room here as there are so many empty rooms ready to serve gracious guests such as yourself. I would love the company of a lady like you!” Duke of Wolfbury didn’t know what to say first to find out more about her and make her stay at his side. His entire body screamed for her to never leave him. He was so into her since first setting his eyes on her that he couldn’t help himself control more than he did.
